Which way to go?

If you are in the middle of an ocean in the darkness of night, do you know which way to go? But there is a compass in the boat that tells you exactly which direction you should be going. So this material existence is compared to an ocean, ‘bhavasagar’. The human life is compared to a boat, which actually has the potential to cross over this ocean. The guru is like the captain of the boat and the teachings of the Vedas and other holy scriptures are like the breezes. If we have the right captain, he or she can teach us how to actually move forward with the help of these breezes of the great teachings.

Wonderful analogy of comparing our material existence to an ocean and how the guru, the saintly people and Vedic scriptures help us to cross over this ocean of ignorance and illusion.

One who is very rare, he only can get the opportunity to be guided by a guru and thus, his life will be successful.
Imagine how much grateful we should be to Prabhupada who created such a society in which we can be sheltered and be counted as one of the most fortunates ones in the entire cosmic manifestation.

A bonafide Guru like Radhanath Swami is the most important person for any individual in this world for such a person shows the path to the Supreme Lord and helps one avoid taking so many unnecessary diversions which may take us away from this real goal in life.

Just like a misdirected boat may keep traveling the ocean similarly if we don’t have a guide, a captain to direct and steer the boat we will also remain in this Bhavsagar without ever reaching to the shore i.e Spiritual world. This is what we have been doing till now. Thank you Radhanath Swami Maharaj for taking the charge of the our ship.
