Great wisdom. We should work without any expectation.

      So true.

It simply changes the whole perspective with which we live our life. Imagining a life with no expectations at all with anyone is very difficult and seemingly impossible but when we are at that stage we can really be peaceful. Because anyone does anything to us we will be grateful as we are not expecting anything from them. Swami ji has overturned my way of thinking. Thank you very much for it.

      Very well said Rajeev.

Well said Rajeev. Our lives will be so much different if we can live without expectations. Thanks to Radhanath Swami.

A very striking point. Expectations really kind of capture and cover our whole consciousness in a way to slow down our focus on positive spiritual advancement.

Indeed a grateful person is satisfied with whatever little he gets & therefore, he is always peaceful. Thank you Radhanath Swami for the wonderful insight.

Nice Vinay Ji, I completely agree with you. Swami ji ki jay.

A very practical tip from HH Radhanath Swami. Often we miss to figure out that our expectations only keep us miserable. If only we learn to receive anything and everything that we get with a grateful heart there will be no reason for any miseries. Many thanks for publishing this wisdom from HH Radhanath Swami.

Yes, we should try to practice this.

Very profound quote this is. Practically we can see this, if we don’t expect from a person and if the person goes beyond our expectation we become pleased, but if we expect and we don’t get it, we become miserable. It’s not easy to implement this, but if we can in a small way it will take us a long way in our spiritual progress.

Very well said Anand. Certainly tough but rewarding if practiced under the guidance of leaders like HH Radhanath Swami.

Radhanath Swami chooses the words so carefully… expectations to be seeds of suffering….

      • Piyush Singh August 15, 2016 - 6:38 am

Indeed, his word selection is just perfect.

I remember devotees sharing this Gem. In every situation, we have the choice to either complain or to be grateful……! But it is wiser to be grateful…..!

    • Piyush Singh January 31, 2016 - 4:34 pm

Right Keshav ji, it is always wiser to be grateful :).

    • Ram Mohan Gupta March 31, 2016 - 6:57 pm

Agree that it’s wiser to be grateful and thus be peaceful as Radhanath Swami points out.

      • Piyush Singh August 19, 2016 - 2:54 pm

True. Gratitude also brings peace naturally as we don’t think ourselves something great in that state.

  • CS Sandeep S. Shinde February 8, 2016 - 12:07 pm

Very true! Expectations is the root cause of most miseries because when they are not met, we feel dejected. So taking note of the wonderful advice given, we should be grateful and count the blessings that we have received, to be peaceful and happy.
