Very powerful quote. Thank you very much.
And that is why I wonder that why I don’t feel any peace, the fact is that my mind is never quiet. There are so many thoughts of past and plans for future keep on playing like records. At times it is so turbulent that it takes a lot of effort to shut these thought down.
I wish and hope that there should be some practical tips on how to make the mind quiet.
Wow……..! This quote reminds me a text from SrimadBhagavatam,
SB 11.23.47
mano-vaśe ’nye hy abhavan sma devā
manaś ca nānyasya vaśaṁ sameti
bhīṣmo hi devaḥ sahasaḥ sahīyān
yuñjyād vaśe taṁ sa hi deva-devaḥ
Translation: (by His Divine Grace A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada)
All the senses have been under the control of the mind since time immemorial, and the mind himself never comes under the sway of any other. He is stronger than the strongest, and his godlike power is fearsome. Therefore, anyone who can bring the mind under control becomes the master of all the senses.
Such beautiful text. Mind is indeed stronger than the strongest and it’s power is really fearsome as most of the times it bewilders our intelligence.
The only hope we have is to engage the mind more and more in devotional activities so that it may remain calm and devoted to Lord Krishna.
Wonderful quote. Thank you very much.
Very true! We may remain silent externally, but our mind is fully of crazy thoughts. As Radhanath Swami says real silence is when our mind is quiet and at peace. That is the time we can actually introspect.
So well said. Thank you.
