This is the true definition of Dharma. As Srila Prabhupada puts “as the dharma of sugar is to be sweet, similarly our dharma is to serve the Lord without any ulterior motives”. In modern era the word “dharma” has been misused, it is meant to signify what “category of people” do we belong to – Hindu, Muslim, Christain..etc…but true Dharma is as Maharaj puts here. Its nothing to do with the externals of oneself, but how is one placed internally within our heart. Thanks Maharaj for the clarity.

General notion is to consider Dharma as Religion but that is not so, there is not equivalent word for Dharma in English. To understand it allegorically: Dharma of Sugar is to be Sweet, Salt is o be Salty; Similarly a Spiritual Being is meant to be a Co-operative agent with the Lord with makes him eternally happy and Satisfied.

This is the true meaning of Dharma. Instead of fighting among us, we should unit together, not for selfish desires, but for the benefit of society. Service to God should be every religion’s goal, then we can actually live peacefully in this world.
