All fear is based on two misconceptions—I am this body and those things in relation to this body are mine. This body is temporary and will perish, and all things in relationship to this body will be taken away from us.
The Greek philosopher Socrates not only understood this but he realized it. He was in prison and he was being given the poison hemlock. If he drank it, in a matter of minutes he was going to be dead. They said, “Drink this.” He said to the people giving, “You cannot kill me because you cannot find me.” He was in prison and saying, “you cannot find me.” He had realized that he is the eternal soul. He was fearless

really wonderful explanation ,thanks Radhanath Swami
And it is because of this faith that Socrates continues to still live amid us and inspire us to lead a life based on eternal spiritual principles. Thank you Radhanath Swami for this powerful example of how fearless a person can be if he is situated on the spiritual platform.
very good example thankyou maharaj
Thank you Radhanath Swami for this powerful teaching
This is a fact. The fear is due to attachment. If we practise Krishna consciousness then only we can come out of this fear. Thanks Radhanath Maharaj for bringing this fact to our notice.
Authorized and Authentic spiritualists throughout the world have based thier teachings on this foundation that we not these bodies but eternal spirit souls and our eternal nature is to love and serve God. HH Radhanth Swami is very nicely bringing up this point in relation to the fear principle. There is so much fear in this world due the ignorance about our own identities. Thanks a lot to Radhanath Swami for taking so profound authentic Vedic spiritual teachings to the whole world.
Thank you Radhanath Swami for giving the teachings of Bhagavad-gita through this article.
Indeed. thinking oneself to be the body only, is the cause of all the fears. Realizing the true nature of the soul liberates one from fears and also to advance spiritually. Many thanks to Radhanath Swami for sharing this wisdom.
Very interesting. I guess we have to be soul- wise and act accordingly. Thank you Swami.
Indeed! It is one thing to understand theoretically and altogether another thing to realize it, like Socrates. Thank you HH Radhanath Swami Maharaj for this article.
thank you for sharing :).
If one has conviction in this knowledge of soul, he can practically be relieved from all anxieties, and saints like Radhanath Swami are preaching such knowledg for the benefit of people in general.
Inspiring story.
This body is temporary and will perish, and all things in relationship to this body will be taken away from us.
This is a statmement to be remembered always! Thanks Radhanath Swami for reminding us of this difficult but true nature of world.
I know only through KC I can get rid of this disease of Fear.

Nice example of Socrates to show the power of one’s understanding that one is not the body but soul, which can never die. Nice message by Radhanath Swami Maharaj.
“what is the use if we gain the entrie world but lose our soul ?”
thank you swamiji for this nice article.
The Basics of all spiritual paths – We are not these bodies but the eternal spirit soul.
When foundation is strong, spiritually we can grow. Excellent post… Thanks
Very nice explanation!
This is shows that principles of Sanatan dharma are true and applicable for everyone. Thank you Radhanath Swami for explaining this with this nice example
This really helps to remove unhealthy fear.
Wonderful realization about how identification with the body brings about fear!
Wonderful story inspires to think beyond bodily concept. If we look at the life of HH Radhanath Swami from his book, “Journey Home”, how he stayed in forest with dangerous animals. This shows how he could have understood the life and completely detached from the bodily concepts. From this story we can learn that if we can become free from me and mine of bodily concept and if we can have complete dependence on the Lord, then we can be free of fear.
